The Middle Floor at Wharf Chambers is a non-profit space in Leeds city centre, co-operatively managed with the aim of providing space and resources to like-minded organisations and individuals.
Wharf Chambers has for the past 4½ years worked towards being a sustainable, ethically run bar and multi-use venue in the centre of Leeds run by a workers’ co-op in partnership with a members’ club. The aim has been to provide an inclusive and affordable safer space for DIY music, art, film, politics and discussion that brings together people from communities across Leeds. For more information please see the website (below).
The Middle Floor is focused on supporting the work of charity, third sector and grassroots organisations by making the space/s available and affordable for workshops, meetings, well-being classes and other uses as appropriate. The space comprises a large open plan room (capacity approx. 100) and meeting rooms, with access to chairs, tables, wifi, projector and basic kitchen facilities. There are good public transport links, with the bus station approximately 3 minutes away by foot and the train station around 10 minutes away, as well as limited parking to the rear of the building. Unfortunately the space is not yet wheelchair accessible but this is something we are seeking to address as soon as possible.
