Sarah Patton and Peter Loo, membesr of Plan C who spent 9 months working for the civil side of the Rojava revolution, will present a talk and discussion about the revolution and its current situation.

At first glance the situation in Rojava is looking bright: Raqqa is liberated, ISIS on the verge of total defeat, elections have been held at the commune and canton level, and an uneasy truce is holding with the Assad regime. Yet large questions still remain: will Turkey invade Afrin, can the economic embargo be broken, and can the values of the revolution continue to spread?

Sarah and Peter will speak about their time in Rojava working in the civil institutions, primarily as English teachers. The presentation will focus on how the revolution is being transmitted and what day-to-day life in Rojava looks like. The talk will end with a presentation on recent developments and the future of the revolution in Rojava. This is a great opportunity to hear about first hand experiences of Rojava and have your questions answered.
