Carbon Conversations Leeds

Carbon Conversations Groups offer a supportive group experience that helps people halve their personal carbon footprint. They deal with the difficulties of change by connecting to values, emotions and identity. The groups are based on a psychological understanding of how people change. Most participants reduce their CO2 emissions by 1 tonne immediately and make plans for long-term reductions, often halving their carbon footprints.

Hollybush Conservation Centre

We are an environmental volunteering centre in Kirkstall, Leeds. The site used to be a rhubarb farm, now we have a community café and garden, a woodwork shop, barn and classroom. We provide a wide range of volunteering opportunities for everyone, and we specialise in working with adults who need a bit of extra help to get their lives back on track.

The Fairtrade mark guarantees that farmers in the developing world get a consistently fair price for their produce. Our group promotes Fairtrade In Leeds. We're very proud that our city has had Fairtrade status for 10 years. This means that many schools, universities, places of worship, shops and cafes are supporting the use of Fairtrade products. We organise regular events throughout the city to let more people know what Fairtrade is all about.


Leeds Friends of the Earth

We're a group of volunteers taking positive action on environmental, ecological and community issues in the Leeds area - currently campaigning to protect bees, ban fracking, and calling for a stop to plans to increase transport links to Leeds Bradford Airport. New faces and ideas always welcome!


Leeds No Borders

Leeds No Borders is a grassroots campaign & support group fighting racist immigration controls. We believe that everyone should have the right to freedom of movement and call for an end to deportations and detention. We organise numerous campaigns and demonstrations including monthly protests outside Waterside Home Office reporting centre, monthly socials, film nights, anti-racist reading/discussion group & a letter writing group to people in detention & prison. Also offer signing support project & support individual anti-deportation campaings.


Leeds Permaculture Network

For people interested in learning about & using permaculture in Leeds to transform our local environment & living spaces. We are an open network with no joining fee or official membership, and everyone is welcome.


Leeds Vegetarian and Vegan Society

The Leeds Vegetarian and Vegan Society holds campaigning info stalls in and around Leeds at various events to educate the public about the livestock industry, healthy eating on a plant-based diet and the environmental effects of meat and dairy farming . It's also a social group.

Rawdon GREENBELT Action Group

Rawdon Greenbelt Action Group (RGAG) is a committee of local people eager to retain the special character of Rawdon and Cragg Wood, and will be opposing ANY development to the greenbelt (or that greenbelt which has recently become re-designated as PAS) that is within the boundaries of Rawdon, including Cragg Wood Conservation Area. Further overdevelopment in Aireborough is unsustainable - the infrastructure cannot support it and there are no plans to improve it.
