Global Divestment Day in Leeds – 13th & 14th February 2015

Posted 9 years ago

In order to prevent (or slow, rather) a further global warming of 2 degrees, as proved is going to occur in the very near future by a recent IPCC report, it is important that carbon quotas are strictly implemented and adhered to, in order to stop the burning of murderous high-carbon substances. Unfortunately, fossil fuel companies have already discovered enough fuel that if burned will surpass this target by fifty times. The time for divestment is now, and our forward thinking and innovative city of culture in the North should be at the forefront of this.

It is our conscience, it is our responsibility. Leeds, the time for divestment is now! Stand with us on February 14th, an international day of love and compassion, to spread our important message of divestment to those who continue to pour money into the wallets of exploiting, damaging and criminal fossil fuel companies. The Leeds rally is one of many global divestment gatherings, a chance for for those who believe that change is possible to stand in solidarity with the poorest individuals suffering from the direct effects of the developed worlds’ behavior and exploitation.

 Fossil Free March!
